Vanilla Honey Mashed Sweet Potatoes

Here is a delicious recipe for enjoyment. Sweet potatoes are a highly nutritious vegetable that is rich in fiber and the powerful anti-oxidant beta carotene. Sweet potatoes are also a good source of Vitamin C, minerals like copper, manganese, zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium and B-vitamins like vitamin B-6, folic acid, and Vitamin B-5. This recipe is accompanied by coconut oil for the proper absorption of beta carotene along with some cinnamon and vanilla for added flavor. I know you will love this delicious and nutritious recipe.
4 large sweet potatoes
2 pinches of sea salt
1/3 cup organic expeller pressed coconut oil
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp of organic vanilla extract
3 tbsp of organic raw honey
1/2 cup purified water (if necessary)
Dried fruit (raisins, dried cranberries, and dried figs) optional

Add purified water to a large pot along with 2 pinches of sea salt. Add 3 large sweet potatoes to the pot and boil for 30 minutes. Strain sweet potatoes from water and let cool for about 30 minutes. Peel skin from sweet potato and place in a large bowl. Mash sweet potatoes with a masher using water if necessary to assist in mashing the potatoes. Then add the coconut oil, vanilla extract, raw honey, cinnamon, and dried fruit to top it off. Enjoy!

Instead of saying that money is tight. Ask this question. "How can money be UNTIGHT". What talents, gifts, and information can you share with others to make money. Spicy Lentil Stew

I love some lentils. Lentils are extremely healthy for you. Lentils are a legume and they are a rich source of anti-oxidants and beneficial fiber. They come in a variety of colors from brown, pink, green, to orange. I recommend the green, pink, and orange varieties as the more color a food has the more anti-oxidant rich it is. Any lentil will do though as lentils are a great source of anti-oxidants. Lentils are rich source of folic acid, iron, manganese, plant protein, phosphorus, copper, and potassium. Lentils are known as one of the five healthiest foods in some circles and have been consumed for thousand years in places like the Middle East and India. They are one of the first foods ever to be cultivated and were mentioned in the Bible. Lentils truly make a satisfying and delicious meal.

Lentils are definitely recommended as they are a rich source of iron but lentils should be soaked for at least 10 hours before cooking as lentils contain phytic acid. Phytic acid is an anti-nutrient component and prevents the absorption of the many minerals found in lentils. The soaking of lentils eliminates or reduces the phytic acid content in the legume or bean.

This recipe is backed with nutrition and anti-oxidants as curry has shown to be a extremly rich source of anti-oxidants. Curry powder contains turmeric and turmeric is a spice that is rich in anti-oxidants. I know you will absolutely love this delicious recipe I created. It is packed with flavor, nutrition, and healing and health promoting components.

Spicy Lentil Stew

1 pound or 16 oz of pink lentils
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped carrot
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
2 cloves of garlic minced or pressed
2 teaspoons sea salt
1 pound lentils, picked and rinsed
1 cup organic tomato sauce (in a glass jar)
6 cups purified water
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon organic curry powder

Soak a pound of lentils in enough purified water to cover overnight or for at least 8 hours.
Strain lentils and discard soaking water.

Turn on heat to high and fill covered pot with 6 cups of purified water and then add soaked lentils. Add sea salt, olive oil , tomato sauce, spices, herbs, garlic, and chopped veggies to the pot and cook on high heat for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to low and then cook for another 35 minutes or until tender.

Garnish with cilantro and serve with brown rice or quinoa, a whole grain consumed for thousands of years in South America. Enjoy!

Do You Believe in God More Than You Do Yourself?

I find it amazing that people believe in God more than they do themselves. People will spend hours praying to God, will give money in the name of God and spends inordinate amounts of time worshipping and praising God. Yet, when it comes to believing in themselves, they are filled with doubt, low self-esteem, and disbelief. In actuality, believing in yourself, self-worship and praise, having a good self-esteem, and having confidence will take you further in life than your belief in God. You can have it both ways, you can believe in God and also believe in yourself. However most religions do not promote that. Religions orient people away from themselves and towards some mysterious God in the ethers. What is people's belief in God getting them though? Are people more fulfilled? Are people happier and healthier? How come many religious people have no confidence, low self-esteem and and filled with disbelief? Plain and simple, having a belief in God is your prerogative but a bigger question to ask is do you have a belief in YOU. Do you think you are worthy of praise and worship? Is TVP Hidden MSG?

Yes, texturized vegetable protein is actually nothing but pure monosodium glutamate or MSG. Texturized vegetable protein is a fraud too because it is not even made from a vegetable. It is made from soybean which is not a vegetable. TVP is hydrolyzed soy protein and the hydrolysis of soy protein creates MSG. MSG is a neurotoxin that destroys your brain cells, and makes you fat, dumb and give you a host of neurological disorders including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's. Date Pecan Balls

Pecans are the most anti-oxidant rich nut out there and one of my personal favorites. Pecans contain over 19 vitamins and minerals – including vitamin A, vitamin E, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, several B vitamins and zinc. They are great for weight loss, preventing heart disease and lowering your cholesterol. I highly recommend that you incorporate more pecans into your diet with this simple and delicious recipe. It is made with dates. Dates are a fruit native to the Middle East and they are really nature's candy but will not do you harm like other processed sweeteners. Dates are a good source of fiber, calcium, potassium, B-Vitamins, magnesium, protein, and abundance of trace minerals like copper and magnesium I recommend everyone use more dates in their recipes instead of isolated sweeteners like agave, maple syrup, or regular sugar. Date Pecan Balls

2 cups of raw pecans
1 and 1/2 cups of pitted dates (Medjool or Deglett Noor)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
Spring or filtered water

Soak pecans and dates for 1-2 hours in water. Drain well and blend together in a food processor or strong blender until it turns into a paste. Use your hands to form paste into bite-size balls. Enjoy immediately or place them in a container for later. They keep well for up to two weeks in the refrigerator.

Beware of "Vegetable Oil"

There is no oil that can be produced from a vegetable. Vegetable oil is really soybean oil. Soybean oil is genetically modified and highly refined oil and that is made from a genetically modified soy plant. Genetically modified foods have been found to cause liver damage, instant death, life threatening allergies, sterility, cancer, birth defects, behavioral problems, sudden death, weakened immune systems, miscarriages, and birth defects. Children are at great risk for GM foods. Genetically modified foods even change the genes of humans! GM foods can also cause your body to begin producing pesticides within your body. It would be wise to avoid any product that is made with soybean oil. If it is not organic or does not say that it is non-GMO then the soybean oil you are consuming is genetically modified. Also vegetable oils such corn, sunflower, safflower, and soybean oil all increase your risk of developing heart disease by increasing the levels of inflammation in the body. That is because these oils are rich in pro-inflammatory omega 6 fatty acids which is the reason why heart disease have skyrocketed in the past decade. Animal fats are not the cause of the heart disease epidemic. It is vegetable and plant based oils.

Birth Control Pills Make Women Choose Mr. Wrong

Women are truly getting screwed by the Medical Mafia and Big Pharma. Between the cancer causing mammograms, the unneccessary medical procedures (hysterectomies, C-sections) and NOW birth control pills, drugs and modern medicine greatly harm women. Birth control pills cause moodiness, irritability, cervical and breast cancer, weight gain, migraines, liver damage, stroke and heart disease. Even worse, they make women attract Mr. Wrong. Turns out that pill prevents a women from literally sniffing out a man who they are compatible with. Smell influences who a woman decides to be with and women tend to be attracted to men who have a dissimilar genetic makeup which is distinguished by a man's scent. A man who has a dissimilar odor or genetic makeup from a woman is more likely to be faithful to her and make her happy. Having a genetically dissimilar relationships also leads to having a healthy pregnancy as it prevents fertility problems and leads to a healthy baby since it will have a strong immune system. When she takes the pill though, she no longer has the ability to pick a mate who is right for her as birth control pills make her pregnant hormonally. When a woman is pregnant, she is more likely to seek out men who are genetically similar to her as they would help to protect and rear the child which could cause a woman to be attracted to her relatives! These genetically similar men are less likely to sexually satisfy her too and she is more likely to cheat on this man. Birth control pills could make a woman be incestous and even if she is not engaging in incest, she will be attracted to Mr. Wrong or to a man who has a similar genetic makeup. What will happen when the woman gets off the pill, which could be too late as she might marry the guy? She will probably think, "Why in the hell am I in this relationship"? She will no longer find him attractive. If women does find Mr. Right, what will happen? Women will sabotage their relationship and begin to go after Mr. Wrong. If these genetically similar people ever did decide to have a baby, then there would be fertility problems and the baby that they might have would be more susceptible to disease.

Lastly, birth control pills also makes a woman less attractive to a man. Studies have shown that men are more attracted to women around the time of ovalution and when she is fertile. However birth control pills make a woman hormonally pregnant where she does not ovaluate and is never fertile and thereby making her less attractive to a man.

Either way, birth control pills are really harming women! They are the worst thing that men ever invented for women and at all costs should be avoided by women!

Can You Overdose on A Vitamin D3 Supplement?

You can but it is like overdosing on water and you are more likely overdose on Vitamin D2 which is actually a prescription drug that has been patented by Big Pharma. You should not consuming vitamin D2 anyways as that is not the type of Vitamin D that your body needs. The following references at the end of this article bear witness to this statement. You can overdose on Vitamin D3 you would have to take very large doses for an extremely long period of time. Most people who ever died from a Vitamin D overdose died as a result of industrial accidents or extremely rare situations. This overdose usually does not lead to death and very few deaths have ever been recorded.

To prevent overdose, I give people the proper information too on what the proper dosages are needed in my special report on Vitamin D because the current recommendations are extremely too low. I recommend a Vitamin D3 supplement for the following reasons.

1. Most people are deficient in Vitamin D which has been used for 60 million years by humans and other living organisms to prevent infection and for proper cell growth. Blacks in particular are highly deficient in this disease and as a result we have higher rates of disease. Vitamin D has been shown to be highly effective for preventing all types cancers, type 2 diabetes, depression, and auto-immune diseases. Having a Vitamin D sufficiency virtually prevents the flu too. Vitamin D3 is way more effective than any herb or any other nutrient for purposes for fighting of preventing infections.
2. Most people have been programmed to be sunphobes or fear the sun because they believe the myth that the sun causes cancer and likely will not get the adequate amounts of sunlight that they need to get due to fear. Blacks have to get 10 times the amount of UV radiation (sunlight) that whites need in order to produce adequate amounts of Vitamin D for optimal health
3. Most people are covered up (with clothing) even during the sun and the spring when their chances of producing Vitamin D are actually higher which makes it more difficult to produce Vitamin D.
4. Many people live in areas of the country (the Northeast, Midwest, North California, etc) where they can produce Vitamin D only 4-6 months throughout the year.

A quality Vitamin D3 supplement is ONE practical way that all people including Blacks can dramatically improve their health. It would be great if people got enough sunlight when the UV index was suitable to the production of Vitamin D like I make an effort to do but as a health researcher, I have to meet everyone where they are.

The best way to get Vitamin D is from the sun and there is no risk of overdose whatsoever but people are not doing that in America. The sun is truly our savior and I believed this for a long time and now science has shown that the pro-hormone (Vitamin D) that our skin produces when exposed to a certain UV index (sunlight) is a powerful health promoter. But since people are not getting sunlight at the right times, the best thing they can do to take advantage of the sun's healing energy is to at least take a high quality Vitamin D3 supplement. Vitamin D2, the pharmaceutical drug is not effective in this way and should not be taken.

Environmental Pollution and Cancer

When I saw the movie Crude last night, which was a documentary about the environmental destruction done by Chevron in the Ecuadorian Amazon which has affected thousands of indigenous people, the people were very clear on what was giving their children and people cancer. Yet in America we see childhood leukemia and other forms of cancer as "RANDOM" or genetic which is a myth. When you ask a doctor, "what causes childhood leukemia or cancer", most of their answers will be that "we don't know". That is true, most doctors do not know. They will often say genes causing them which is usually bullshit. The genetic argument has been used by the Medical Mafia for years to make disease seem like a random deck of cards. Disease is not a random deck of cards. The causes of disease are usually always the same. One of the main causes of disease are environmental chemicals which the movie CRUDE illustrates. There has been a major upsurge in cancer in the past 100 years and this surge has been directly correlated with all the environmental chemicals that we are being exposed to food, air, personal care products, and our water supply. Many of these chemicals we cannot avoid but many we can the dangers of these products are intentionally being suppressed or officials within the government are downplaying their dangers. A really harmful chemical that the government has been really slow to move on is Bisphenol-A. This chemical is found in many plastics and canned goods. This chemical has been linked to impotence, birth defects, miscarriages, obesity, type 2 diabetes, neurological disorders, infertility in men and women, breast and prostate cancer. This chemical has also been shown to effeminize males and makes animals into hermaphrodites. Women are especially sensitive to the danger of this chemical as Bisphenol-A and most of the environmental chemicals we are exposed to on a consistent basis are xeno-estrogens or estrogen minimcking chemicals. This environmental chemicals reek havoc on a women's body. Do You Have Genetically Modified Sweet Tooth

The processed sugar of the world is derived from two sources, sugar cane which has been used for thousands of years and sugar beets, a root vegetable. Sugar beets are used to produce 30 percent of the world's sugar and 50 percent of the sugar found in America is from beets. Since 2008, Monsanto's genetically modified Round Ready sugar beets have been planted. 95 percent of the sugar beets being grown in America today are genetically modified which means that you could be consuming food products which contain GMO sugar and not even know it. Genetically modified ingredients are not required to be labeled due to Big Agribusiness lobbying of the government which is bad news for the average American consumer who is unknowningly consuming loads of sugar that could be genetically modified. Genetically modified crops are DANGEROUS. They are dangerous for the environment and human health. GMO crops have never been tested by the government and also have been found to cause genetic pollution. This genetic pollution could place the world's agricultural system at a future grave danger and also under the deliberate control of corrupt Monsanto. Beet sugar whether genetically modified or not is also cheaper than regular cane sugar so that food manufacturers often use it their processed food products.

What food products contain GM sugar:
Food products that were made in 2007 and beyond will not contain GM sugar as the crop had not planted yet. However, you should not be consuming products that have a shelf-life of 2 years or more. Some products that will likely contain GM sugar are breakfast cereals, donuts, and cookies so those should be avoided. Due to the fact that GM sugar will likely be in cereals, kids are at great risk of being contaminated with GM sugar. Are You Consuming Poisonous Strawberries?

Unbeknownest to most people, commercially grown strawberries are one of the most toxic fruits you can consume. Commercially grown strawberries are high in pesticides. Pesticides are one of the overlooked dangers in our industrial food system. People get sick or poisoned sick from consuming poison (pesticided crops) and then they take another prescribed poison (pharmaceutical drug) also known as so-called "medicine". No doubt about it though pesticides are poisonous! They have linked to childhood cancers including leukemia, Parkinson's disease, autism, endocrine and hormone disruption, behavioral problems, brain tumors, liver damage, breast and prostate cancer. According to the Environmental Working Group, strawberries are one of the crops with the highest amounts of pesticides residues found on them. Strawberries incorporate a really toxic pesticide known as Methyl Bromide which has been found to be highly destructive. Abundance is About Your Mindset not Your Bank Account

Many people want financial abundance but we often do not realize what abundance is. Abundance is a state of being or state of mind. Abundance is within you too and you are free to be abundant anytime you want. Abundance can be thought of as a feeling. It has been told to many of us that the Kingdom of Heaven is within. That is true! Why? Because abundance, wealth, happiness, and joy are all within us and that is what we really want. We might WANT the money but we REALLY WANT is the good feeling or experience associated with having the money. You would not money if it did not bring security, peace, freedom and happiness. If money did not bring that, it would just be some green paper with pretty ink on it which is what it is anyways. Money, cars, a great business, and great money making opportunities are just physical manifestations of those states of mind within. A lack of money is also a reflection that you have not been really BEING ABUNDANT but have spent more time being broke. How do BE Broke? By focusing on what you do not have which only creates more of NOT HAVING. You also may have limiting beliefs like "Money is the root of all evil" and "Rich people are crooks". If you have those beliefs then you will unconsciously and literally kick money away from you. Your beliefs and programming regarding money is the reason for the financial results in your life. You are the sole creator of your financial results; your job is not responsible for this nor is the economy. So if you want to create better financial results, then you have to create new supportive beliefs and also take full responsibility for your financial well-being. Overcoming Yeast Infections

Yeast infections are a common occurrence with many women. There are primarily caused by anti-biotics or the usage of birth control pills. Anti-biotics destroy the healthy flora in your vagina causing a yeast overgrowth. Birth control pills also cause yeast infections. Birth control pills are one of the worst things a women can ever take. They have become more popular in the past several years and a result of that is the increase in yeast infections amongst women. A bad diet and stress also contributes to a yeast infection. The processed food diet filled with refined grains and sugars play a major role in candida overgrowth which often leads to a yeast infection. Berry Delight Smoothie

I love Dates and I love Smoothies. Smoothies are a great way to get more anti-oxidant rich fruits into your diet. Smoothies are easy to make, can be really tasty, and can be given to children as a "sweet" way to get more nutrition into their diet. Fruits are loaded with fiber, minerals, and nutrients and increased consumption of many of these fruits can help prevent infections and decrease your risk of just about every disease you can think of. I am a big fan of berries so this smoothie recipe below will contain lots of berries which are usually very high in immune boosting Vitamin C.

Dates are on the other hand are a delicious fruit that is native to the Middle East. They are extremely sweet and rich in nutrients. Dates are a good source of fiber, calcium, potassium, B-Vitamins, magnesium, protein, and abundance of trace minerals like copper and magnesium. I recommend everyone use Dates in their smoothies instead of isolated sweeteners like agave, maple syrup, or regular sugar.
Here is a delicious recipe I created:

Berry Delight Smoothie

1 Banana
1/4 cup organic strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1/4 cup organic blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1/4 organic raspberries (fresh or frozen)
3 pitted Deglett Noor dates or 2 pitted Medjool Dates
3 tbsp organic expeller pressed coconut oil
1/2 organic coconut milk cup (use Native Forest, a BPA brand)

I recommend purchasing strawberries and raspberries organic due to the high levels of pesticides used on them.

Add the ingredients to a blender with water and blend. Enjoy!
The recipe serves 1 to 2 people.

Note: To make the smoothies more "berry" and beneficial for the immune system, you can add 1 tablespoon of Elderberry powder. Elderberry is an berry which is beneficial in boosting the immune system and preventing colds and flus. Elderberry is also a great natural remedy for the cold or all flus. Elderberry is also rich in anti-oxidants and contain twice as many as blueberries.

Why Michelle Obama is More Likely to Die From Breast Cancer than Hilary Clinton

Race is always a hot topic here but people always seem to neglect discussing the topic of race and health. If it is discussed, it is always a matter of stating that Blacks or other minorities are not getting enough treatment and early detection particularly in the realm of cancer. It is true though, that Blacks do have higher rates of every other disease you can think of. And money does not fix this health epidemic amongst Blacks as we have seen rich Black celebrities such as Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes die from degenerative and preventable diseases. However Blacks and Whites do have different health concerns and challenges. It is not because Blacks are inferior or have bad genes. Blacks have different diets and a large percentage of Blacks are on the low end of the economic bracket and do not have access to healthy foods (That is not to excuse bad dietary habits by Blacks). Historically, Blacks have also been unable to receive treatments from the medical establishment and have even been subject to crimes like the Tuskegee Experiment. So as a health researcher while researching general topics on health and wellness, I definitely sought to know why Blacks have a myriad of health problems. One of the main reasons for poor Black health is a Vitamin D deficiency. One of the main reasons a Vitamin D deficiency is so common in Blacks is because Black skin absorbs more sunlight making more it more difficult to produce Vitamin D. Blacks have to spend more time in the sun in order to produce Vitamin D. The implication of Blacks, like Michelle Obama, not having adequate amounts of Vitamin D are severe. Another consequence of having Vitamin D deficiency for Black women is that they are more likely to develop a deadly type of breast cancer. Black doctors operate in the same fraudulent system which has done nothing for Blacks and other ethnic groups for that matter. I say everyone avoid the sick care system (doctors, hospitals, etc) unless you have been shot, been stabbed or suffered some really severe incident or accident.

You Can Eat Lots of Fat and Lose Weight??

I will share one of my secrets to easily losing weight and maintaining a healthy one. I have a pretty HIGH FAT diet. OMG, I thought fat makes you FAT, you might say. Nope, not true. Plus consuming right types of fat can help you lose. Example, peanuts have fiber, fat, and protein in a combination that fulls you up, increases your metabolism and does not cause your levels of insulin to increase whatsoever. Insulin is a fat promoting/storing hormone and you must regulate the secretion of this hormone to lose weight. I use nuts to replace fat-making sweet snacks I might consume (even if they are made with healthy sweeteners). Nuts are a big part of my eating regimen and they fill me up often for hours so I cannot eat anything else. Most of the fats I consume are tree nuts. Pistachios, almonds, macadamia nuts and the like. Studies have shown that people who consume a lot of tree nuts actually have lower BMIs. Another study showed that people who consume flaxseed and flax oil for example actually had lower BMIs than those who did not.

Most people struggle to lose weight because they are consuming bad fats. These bad fats cause inflammation and insulin resistance which both lead to obesity. Also how we consume many fats can also play a role in whether they makes us pack on pounds or lose them. Many of us are using the wrong types of fats to prepare our food with. Vitamin D: The Most Powerful Substance for A Healthy Immune System

Immunomodulators are substances which create a healthy functioning immune system and balance and regulate your immune system. There are two problems with people when it comes to their immune system. First, some people's immune systems do not work! Thereby they get sick, become susceptible to infectious disease and conditions like candida become a problem. The other problem is that people have an overactive immune system when causes autoimmune illnesses like lupus, cancer, and multiple sclerosis. Autoimmune disease are situations where the body begins to attacks itself and you do not want to have a situation like that.

Incredible Edible Spinach and Simple Recipes

Spinach is THEE most nutritious and healthful veggie that one could consume. Spinach is rich in breath enhancing chlorophyll, vitamins A, C, K, and E, folic acid, and the minerals of magnesium, manganese, calcium, potassium, and iron. Spinach is also rich in the mineral lutein which is beneficial for the eyes and for the prevention of eye problems like glaucoma. Spinach is also a great source of omega 3 fatty acids. Spinach has everything! You can get more information on the health benefits of spinach Here. Popeye was on to something when he got really strong and energized from eating it, LOL. Spinach is also a great source of protein too. I used to watch a lot of Popeye and Olive Oil when I was younger. Now I love to eat Spinach and olive oil together, LOL. I never liked Spinach when I was growing up but I know from consuming it awhile now that Spinach is a nutritious veggie that does not taste like a vegetable. You want to consume spinach raw to get the full spectrum of nutrients and also buy it organic as Spinach is one of the crops where high levels of pesticides are used when it is grown non-organically. The list of crops that have high amounts of pesticides used when grown non-organically is called the Dirty Dozen.

Spinach has a really neutral taste and this makes it great for adding into salads or even smoothies. See recipes below.

Spinach and Cranberry Salad


2 cup of organic spinach
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped/sliced carrots
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup dried organic cranberries
1/4 tsp Paprika
Pinch of Cayenne
Pinch of sea salt
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp fresh-squeezed lemon juice

Add spinach, tomatoes, carrots, almonds and cranberries into a large bowl. Season with a pinch of salt, paprika, and cayenne. Set aside. Then combine olive oil and lemon juice into a smaller bowl and then add to salad. Toss to combine. Enjoy!

That salad will fill you up and load you up on nutrient dense calories that will leave you satiated and not craving another meal in 2 hours. The almonds are packed with good fats and the cranberries are rich in anti-oxidants. You can jazz up your salad any way you like by adding more veggies (mushrooms, green peppers, etc). This recipe can be a template that you can use. I personally like just adding olive oil and lemon juice on my salad but you can use an organic salad dressing. Try to avoid commercial salad dressings loaded with sugar (high fructose corn syrup) and unhealthy rancid omega 6 oils like corn or soy.

Now I will give you a really simple way to incorporate this extremely healthy veggie into your diet. I will give you a smoothie recipe with spinach in it. This is a great way to get children eat this vegetable. You might not want to call it a "Spinach smoothie" though.

Green Smoothie


1/2 Cup Organic Spinach
1 Banana
1/2 Cup organic strawberries
1/2 cup organic blueberries (they can be frozen blueberries if not in season)
1/4 cup Raisins
2 tbsp of organic sugar or maple syrup (if needed the raisins will help to sweeten it up though)
1/2 cup of water or 1/2 cup ice

Add all ingredients to a blender and then add water. Blend for about 30 seconds to a minute. Enjoy!

This smoothie can be a nutritious breakfast or meal that you can enjoy during the midday. You can also jazz up this smoothie recipe as you like to. You can add some cold-pressed flax oil and maybe even some hemp seed protein to make it a "protein shake". Be creative.

Keeping it Simple When It Comes to Health and Nutrition

I get asked often "Curtis what do you eat"? The answer is always the same, fruits and veggies. I also consume some nuts and grains (gluten-free) ideally. People will also ask me “Curtis what kind of medicine do you take”. The answer is always the same again my food is my medicine and I will also take herbs. In most people’s minds, the first herb that comes to mind is marijuana but that is one medicinal herb, when not smoked, out of thousands of plants that have medicinal properties. Many people use herbs for cooking and flavoring but when they get sick they resort to consuming a poison (drug) under the guise that poison (drugs) is medicine. My perspective is to use your food as your medicine and since herbs are edible plant matter then what is an herb? Food! Yes, herbs are foods and you can take herbs when you are sick and when you are well unlike pharmaceutical drugs. No one take drugs when they are sick even though that is the latest marketing poly to push more drugs on Americans. You can take horny goat weed, an herbal aphrodisiac, when you do not have erectile dysfunction and when you do have it. Ideally, if you consume a whole foods, plant-based diet then erectile dysfunction will never be issue. You can never go wrong with consuming whole, organic fruits and veggies. Our government even recommends consuming at least 5-7 servings per days of whole fruits and veggies and the average Americans get half of that serving. And we wonder why many of us are so sick and ailing? Many people actually think some French fries are a serving of a vegetable when French fries are pure starch that most times has been processed (removal of skin) and probably fried in genetically modified, rancid, and toxic soy or corn oil.

Me personally I highly recommend a mostly raw plant-based and the exclusion of processed foods and animal products except for raw honey maybe. I took the government’s recommendations and I took it the next level and all I consume is plants. I really do not worry about protein because I am not a body builder but I know I get plenty of protein from the nuts, legumes and dark leafy vegetables that I consume. If I were to be concerned about protein or be a body builder, hemp seed protein (with the fiber) would be my top protein choice. I am not soy eater because in keeping it simple, soy it is not a whole food it is usually high processed and contains many anti-nutritive properties.

With that being said, I encourage everyone to incorporate as much whole plant foods in your diet instead of the processed foods even if you choose to consume animal products. One of the main problems with some vegetarians is that they are consuming too many processed foods i.e. soy hot dogs, refined flours, etc. It is really easy to identify whole foods from processed foods. It is all in the package. If you are buying food in a package, box, or container then you are probably dealing with processed food at some level. An example would the difference between buying a whole fig and a box of fig newtons. The fig is the whole food and the fig Newton is the processed “foodstuff” that could probably remain on that supermarket shelf for 5 years or more possibly. Hey most processed foods are made to not break down or decompose so what do you think happens to that “lab food” in your body. So make it a goal of yours to have less packages in your shopping cart and more produce. The benefits for your health will be worth it. Thanks for reading.
